Supports for bearings

Self-aligning supports are equipped with spherical or roller bearings. As units they can be configured within housings made of different shapes and materials, complete with seals. Shields are provided along with the supports or included in inserts to be fitted inside them.

Depending on the type, the demands of the application and the operating conditions, supports can be provided that are made of pressed metal, cast iron, steel, polymer or stainless steel, and the relevant protective covers.

The bearing housing in the support is made according to tolerances that guarantee free coupling for the external ring and, in most cases, the width of the housing is sufficient for the bearing to have axial freedom.

This makes it possible to resolve, in relation to the support itself, issues resulting from dimensional inaccuracies, small irregularities in the assembly position, and the shaft's temperature range. In the case of split housed units, the bearing is secured axially using clamping rings.
